I haven't given much thought to what Brisbane's voice sounds like, but when he shouts "Cut that out!" he sounds like Jack Benny. Anyhow, there's a lot of artifacting on the strip; I think it got converted from GIF to JPG and back a few times too many.

So did the Hot Soup routine have a so-so ending? Or did it not end? When Peter walked offstage to get the ice did he ever come back on? Did Brisbane just sit there waiting for his soup to cool until it was time for the next act?

Yes, that's Sofia. The original idea was that she'd be skilled with makeup and disguise, and would look like a different species each week. This, like the wasps, would be a great idea in a comic that didn't have drastic art shifts on a regular basis. I believe I came up with the idea back when I was hoping to have one regular artist.

I really liked this sequence. Things really came together. If I hadn't introduced Sofia a different way in the new introduction, I would've brought it into continuity.

Caleb's reason for chasing after Sofia pretty much stayed the same after the reboot.

Yes, the spikes turn on and off as the plot calls for them. Kind of like how cartoon birds can fly unless it's funnier for them not to.
