I like the way the trees look in the background, especially the second panel.
Now, if the last panel of the previous comic had been wordless, and Kimberly started out this one with "It's hard being alone, you know", that would've been a perfect moment. It's not supposed to be a continuation of the conversation. It's Kimberly saying something that desparately needed to be said, out of nowhere, after a reflective silence. I may not have intended it that way when I wrote it, but I intend it that way now; I like to think that I understand the scene better now.
This sequence, on the bus, is where the post-Emily story was going and what the vaudeville clearance three weeks ago was leading into - Kimberly dealing with loneliness and realizing that her flirtation/rivalry with Brisbane is the closest she's gotten to anyone in the last few years
I really, really like what Isabel did in the last panel here.
The restaurant name doesn't translate to anything. G isn't a Cyrillic character. And, as I usually do, they order by number so that I don't need to figure out what they're really eating. The script just specified foreign. The waiter is based on Ridge, one of Isabel's older characters, who would later show up in the Grover Hills series. Something Else pt 3
