Matthew Gardner used to do this comic called It's Gravy. He's currently doing some things with Floating Hands Studios. But yeah, I think it's a bit unfair to call a computer a Do It Yourself model if all you do is plug three things in. If you don't wrap the copper around the magnets yourself, it's not a proper kit. And the copper is cheaper, causing the downturns in the Argentinian market mentioned at the very beginning of all this.
Brisbane recaps the plot as if it makes perfect sense. I probably could've moved the words so that the speech lines didn't have to get cut like that. Those lines were, I believe, made in Illustrator, because I didn't like the way straight lines looked.
Because we'd make fun of it so hard. Because making fun of Intel and Microsoft was really big back in 1999. I think I was trying to pander to that crowd for this week.
Now, there are companies where this has happened. I probably had three examples back then, but I don't have any now. Anyhow, the Commodore 64 had 64KB of RAM, so the Commodore 32768 would have 32MB, which was about average in 1999. I never owned a Commodore and don't have any real opinions of them. I think I just dropped the reference in, in the hopes that Commodore fans would flock to the comic, much like the Amiga fans flocked to Sabrina Online.
Yeah, the sentient computer sidekick thing seemed kinda overdone back in 1999. I think Bloom County's Banana Jr. inspired a lot of similar work. Take that, other comics. Also, take that, fourth wall.
