 And that's why they drifted apart. The story got retold in You Say it First. Kimberly resents Emily because of the opportunities that she didn't get. I was going to do a story about Kimberly trying to visit Emily at college but either getting blown off or not making it there. The comic just wound up not going in that direction.
 And here's the counterpoint, from Emily's point of view. That was the initial idea behind Emily, that this gulf had grown between her and Kimberly, and Emily just could not conceive of it.
 I really, really should've had mentioned that he didn't notice the mimes because they're so quiet. Because you know, they're mimes. I hope there's a story behind this one; a fourth panel that got cut accidentally, or this was in my "work on" pile and got moved to "ready to draw" by accident. It leads into things, I guess.
 Now, a really good writer would've tied Caleb's talk about change to the Kimberly/Emily thing that had been going on for the last few weeks.
 I like the way Peter no-sells Dr. Marvello's attempt to introduce himself.
