This is the most sensible thing that anybody has said in the entire comic, and it's Peter's line. Occasionally Gracie Allen or Edith Bunker or Peter Nelson says something that's both brilliant and true, and it's hilarious because it's both expected and unexpected at the same time.
This arc is called Kiranga, after a Ugandan folk hero who's known in nearby regions as Ryangombe. I know nothing about him except that I decided to steal the name because it appealed to me, and because I thought it especially clever to reference something that nobody else would get.
As I've mentioned, I think that showing thought bubbles sometimes is a cop-out. You either show them all the time or never. Anyhow, this one was worth breaking the rule for.
