If I recall it, I came up with the idea of Peter's house first. Then, about four comics later, I had to figure out how they'd actually get inside. "Get inside Peter's house" was kind of the adventure hook for this arc, so I had to figure something out.
I recall seeing stilt houses like that on beaches in Florida, to protect against flooding. I like Peter's reasoning better, though.
I like Peter's first line. It's the kind of line that moves the plot forward. Simple, declarative, and entirely wrong. The original instructions were "Peter: (grandly, as if he were announcing that he intended to scale Mt. Everest or hunt tigers) "
Wait a minute. I must've rewritten either this one or the last one. Peter goes from "I saw it once!" to "What makes you think I saw your act?". I'm going to declare that it's entirely in character for him. So, did Brisbane and Peter actually get reviewed? Are there folks going around reviewing vaudeville acts? I mean, where would the reviews run?
Yes, intercepting the handshake means that the deal is with Kimberly. It's legally binding, you know. Peter's House pt 2
