As a result of Orochi mentioning that, I realized that Hodges' gender was mildly ambiguous, and this plot developed. I don't remember what I had planned for Hodges that got pre-empted for this.

"We're out of sunglasses, so don't ask for any" - I love little throwaway gags like that; I should've done that more often. I'm going to say that she's sold out because she was that good at selling sunglasses in the middle of a vaudeville theatre.
